It was great to see so many contract faculty at our informational town hall last week to answer questions about our recent election agreement, hear from other unionized non-tenure track faculty, and discuss next steps. Our next town hall will be Friday, February 9 at 1:00 pm on Zoom — click here to RSVP!
More than 80 contract faculty came out to our town hall last week to discuss our upcoming election and get answers to questions.
As we continue to finalize the logistics of our election, we’re excited to see fellow academic unions and community members turn out in support.
We also got some great coverage of our campaign this past week including interviews with faculty from across NYU campuses:
- The Chief Leader: “Securing a fair, neutral election is a win but also the bargaining unit that we were able to win is great. It’s large, it’s inclusive and we were able to keep a lot of contract faculty that initially the administration wanted out.” Elisabeth Fay, Expository Writing Program
- Jacobin: “I’m an international faculty member, and I’m on a work visa. My work is tied to my residence in the country, so job security was something that really mattered to me.“ -Ahmed Ansari, Department of Technology, Culture and Society, Tandon School of Engineering
We’re excited to continue having conversations with coworkers as we move closer to exercising our democratic choice to form a union, so we can win the protections and power that thousands of NYU faculty and staff already have!
In solidarity,
