On Saturday, a record 200 or more people observed as our elected bargaining committee continued to make progress to win a fair contract. They were backed by the knowledge that we stand behind them ready to strike if the administration doesn’t bargain in good faith and settle a fair contract. By the time bargaining finished after almost twelve hours around 10:30pm, we had made progress on a number of topics: sabbaticals, a retirement lump sum buyout and phased retirement, academic freedom, and some benefits.
RSVP to observe bargaining starting at 11am
Sign up for your picket shifts

Please join your colleagues tomorrow in the room or on zoom starting at 11am. This weekend there’s a lot of waiting around while the two negotiating teams caucus and work on proposals, and during that time we do the real stuff of a union: calling our colleagues to remind them to sign up for picket shifts, making picket signs to prepare to strike, and—most importantly—talking to each other and telling each other about our lives and our jobs.
Come join us—and then, if the administration won’t settle, join us Monday on the picket line.
In solidarity,
