Strike authorization vote continues
Yesterday morning we began our vote to authorize our bargaining committee to set a strike deadline and, if necessary, to call a strike. In the first day, hundreds of us voted. Have you? If you didn’t receive an email from Election Buddy with your ballot, check your spam and promotions folders and if you can’t find it, fill out this form for a new ballot.

Voting closes Friday, February 20, but why wait? To delay may mean to forget.

Two bargaining sessions this week
While we’re voting to authorize a strike, bargaining continues. This week, our bargaining committee will meet with the administration’s representatives twice, on Wednesday evening and Friday morning. As always, they are stronger when we stand behind them. Both sessions are in the usual room on the 4th floor of 105 E 17th St. and are also on zoom. Please come to one or both of this week’s sessions to show the administration we’re united in demanding a strong first contract. You can RSVP here.

Support from campus allies
Over the past week, support from campus allies has been rolling in. Last week. As we were preparing for our strike authorization vote, the NYU chapter of AAUP, the NYU adjunct faculty chapter of UAW local 7902, and GSOC all wrote to their members supporting us and urging their members not to cross picket lines or do our work should we be forced to strike. We’re grateful for their solidarity.

Others, especially students, are signing a pledge to support us, which is available at bit.ly/CFUsolidarity. If students or non-contract faculty colleagues ask you how they can support our union, you can send them that link.

Keep up with the campaign
Want to make sure you’re keeping up with everything that your colleagues are doing to win a strong first contract? Be sure to follow us on InstagramFacebook, and/or Twitter. We’re even on Vimeo, where this week and next you’ll be able to watch colleagues explain why they’re voting yes to authorize a strike — including Jason Pollard (Associate Arts Professor, UGFTV)Anne Dewitt (Clinical Associate Professor, Gallatin School of Individualized Study), and Jennifer Trahan (Clinical Professor, Center for Global Affairs), among others.
